LG Electronics Vice Chairman and CEO Koo Bon-joon has sent out “CEO pizzas” to up to 1,000 employees to help boost morale, the Seoul-based electronics maker said on Wednesday.
The latest batch of pizzas, sent out by Koo to express his affection for the LGE staff, were delivered on Tuesday to LG Electronics’ Air-conditioning and Energy Solution division’s “Chiller” team’s production and R&D units in Jeolla Province and Seoul.
The latest batch of pizzas, sent out by Koo to express his affection for the LGE staff, were delivered on Tuesday to LG Electronics’ Air-conditioning and Energy Solution division’s “Chiller” team’s production and R&D units in Jeolla Province and Seoul.

Koo’s message on the pizza boxes thanked the employees for their efforts and said he believed they would form the foundation of LG Electronics’ future.
He also welcomed them as a “part of the LG family.”
LG Electronics earlier this year acquired the air-conditioning business of LS Mtron to merge it with its “Chiller” team.
A chiller is a central air conditioning system used mostly in office buildings and other larger areas. The global chiller market is currently valued at around $12 billion.
Last week, Koo sent out CEO pizzas to 170 service engineers working in 10 provincial regions.
In May, the CEO sent out pizzas for the first time to overseas corporations and offices in areas of Nigeria, Senegal, Angola and the UAE.
Koo’s pizza campaign started in April this year when Koo sent out 80 boxes of pizzas to 300 of the company’s smartphone development team.
So far, more than 400 boxes have been delivered, the company said.
The world’s third-largest handset maker has been struggling to get back into the smart race after falling out of the competitive groove over the past couple of years.
LG said the CEO pizzas were having a positive impact on employee morale and said more pizzas would be sent in future.
