About 500 volunteer leaders gathered in Daegu for the successful hosting of the IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011. 


The Korea Federation of Volunteer Center held a meeting of volunteer leaders from April 5-6 in Hotel Inter-Burgo in Daegu. The meeting was held to discuss the ways of enhancing the national brand through volunteerism, promoting volunteerism and increasing the number of volunteers across the nation. 


During the event, participants were also able to tour the cultural legacy sites of the city, including Bangjja Yugi Museum and Donghwasa. The tour started at Mt. Palgong before visiting Yakjeon Alley, the Mission Museum and other cultural sites in Daegu.


“Through the meeting, we hope to raise Daegu’s status as a volunteer rich city and help promote the ‘Visit Daegu 2011’ and ‘IAAF World Championships,’ while spreading a sharing and helping spirit to establish a compassionate community.”
