Korean female pro golfers joined forces with a champion fighter to help those in Japan affected by the devastating quake and tsunami last March.

According to the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association, golfers participating in the Rush n Cash Charity Classic donated 50 million won ($45,800) to Japanese Koreans affected by the quake.

The golfers asked world renowned Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter Choo Sung-hoon, also known as Yoshihiro Akiyama, to deliver the money, which accounted for 10 percent of the prize pool, to an association for earthquake victims that are Japanese of Korean decent.

A fourth generation Japanese Korean himself, Choo also put his judo uniform up for auction, along with drivers, putters and other treasured items from the pro golfers. They also plan to send the proceeds from the auction with Choo, who will deliver the money early next month.
