Man in 30s arrested for stalking

A man who allegedly sent more than a hundred text messages to his ex-girlfriend was arrested and charged with stalking, according to Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.

The 38-year-old man surnamed Jang had sent 147 text messages to the victim since October 2009. He kept following his ex by hiding around her house as well as workplace. With the internet ID and password he had learned during the relationship, he even kept track of things she bought online.

By consistently sending messages, Jang made it clear to her that he was watching.

The messages included harassments like “You better watch out when walking at night,” or “If you do not call me by tomorrow, I will annoy you until death.”

The man reportedly even went as far to have his mobile phone bills paid from the victim’s bank account.

헤어진 애인 문자보내 괴롭힌 30대 입건

서울지방경찰청 생활질서계는 21일 옛 애인에게 백 통이 넘는 협박ㆍ음란성 문자를 보내 괴롭힌 혐의(폭력행위등 처벌법상 상습협박 등)로 장모(38)씨를 불구속 입건했다.

경찰에 따르면 장씨는 2009년 10월부터 최근까지 헤어진 여자친구 A(33)씨에게 음란한 사진과 함께 ‘더러운 X’, ‘밤길 조심해라’, ‘내일까지 전화 한 통 안주면 죽을 때까지 괴롭힐거다’ 등 욕설과 협박 문자 147통을 보낸 혐의를 받고 있다.

조사결과 장씨는 A씨의 집과 직장 주변에 숨어 옷차림이나 행적을 확인하는가 하면 사귀면서 알게 된 인터넷 사이트 아이디와 비밀번호로 이메일과 쇼핑 내역 등을 파악해 24시간 지켜보고 있는 것처럼 문자를 보낸 것으로 드러났다.

장씨는 A씨의 아이디로 미니홈피에 접속해 게시판에 음란한 글을 쓰기도 했고 자신의 휴대전화 이용료가 A씨의 은행계좌에서 빠져나가도록 하는 파렴치함도 보였다고 경찰은 전했다.
