To the joy of the many French movie fans in Korea, Cine France announced Tuesday the lineup for the March-April season, which is currently running at Dongsoong Art Center in Dongsung-dong, central Seoul.

Organized by the French Embassy in Korea, the French Cultural Center and Jinjin Pictures, Cine France is a film screening event started in 2006 to introduce French movies to the Korean public. 

Following director Nicolas Saada’s film “Espion(s),” which was screened last Tuesday, the event plans to screen nine feature-length films that entered the competition section of My French Film Festival, the first online French film festival held in January by UniFrance. Other films include “Complices,” directed by Frederic Mermoud, “L’Autre,” directed by Dominque Blanc and “La Famille Wolberg,” directed by Axelle Ropert.

“Cine France is the only French movie festival in Korea that offers French movies which would be hard to come across otherwise. It has been loved by many cinephiles in Korea during the past six years and we hope to continue on the tradition,” Daniel Kapelian, audiovisual attach at the French Cultural Center, told the press Tuesday.

This season, the event is supported by Louis Quatorze and Dongsoong Art Center. Actress Han Ji-hye is the event’s goodwill ambassador.

Cine France runs every Tuesday at 8:20 p.m. at Dongsoong Art Center in Dongsung-dong, central Seoul. Admission is 8,000 won. For more information, visit www.france.or.kr or cafe.naver.com/inada.
