The Canadian pop singer’s hair has been sold for $40,688 on eBay, CBS News reported.
The star had a hair cut the day after his 17th birthday and drew attention from many fans who described his new look as “Bieberish.”
After the hair cut, he brought the lock of his hair in a box to “The Ellen DeGeneres” show, which she later put on eBay.
The bid went up to $10,000 just after an hour, and the winner got Bieber’s hair for $40,688.
The report said that DeGeneres will donate some of the money to animal rescue center The Gentle Barn, which rescues abandoned dogs, and use the restto help disadvantaged kids.
Meanwhile, Bieber’s recent two albums are in the Billboard Top Five this week, and his new movie “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never (3-D)” has been a huge hit, earning about $70 million at the box office since its release last month, according to ABC News.
