[Photo News] Robot for rehabilitation
Hyundai Motor said Wednesday that it held a ceremony to donate two units of the X-ble MEX, a wearable robot developed to help users exercise the lower body, to Asan Medical Center in Seoul. The wearable robots will be used to help with the treatment and rehabilitation of paraplegia patients, according to the company. Hyundai has trademarked X-ble as its wearable robot brand with the intention to expand the technology to various industries.

Hyundai Motor Group said Monday it has renewed its sponsorship of the World Archery Federation for three more years until 2026. The carmaker will be sponsoring the archery games for 10 years, with this year’s Hyundai Archery World Cup and Hyundai World Archery Championships slated for Apr. 18 and July, respectively. Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Chung Euisun is serving as the head of the Korea Archery Association since 2005.

BMW Korea on Wednesday unveiled its hydrogen-powered pilot model, the iX5 Hydrogen, on Yeongjongdo, Incheon. Based on BMW’s fifth-generation eDrive technology, it can power up to 401 horsepower and accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in less than 6 seconds. The car’s energy tank, which takes 3-4 minutes for a full charge, can store approximately 6 kilograms of hydrogen. It can drive around 500 kilometers on a single charge.
