Starbucks Korea said Thursday it will donate a restored handwritten note of Korean independence movement leader Kim Gu, whose pen name is Baekbeom, to the National Trust for Cultural Heritage as part of its social contribution activities. Hyundai Motor Group's all-new Grandeur has won the 2023 Car of the Year award, the Korea Automobile Journalists Association announced Wednesday. According to the KAJA, the all-new Grandeur earned an overall score of 80.75 out of 100, closely beating out BMW's 7 series, which received an 80.43. SK Telecom said Monday it has developed an artificial intelligence-based robot kit, using its own Vision AI technology that controls robots and analyzes high-definition images of the cameras attached to them. The robots are especially designed to detect fire or leakage of harmful gas, as well as offering the 3D measurement of spaces. The company plans to expand their industrial adoption by developing more customized solutions for corporate clients.

Hyundai Motor's electric vehicle Ioniq 5 has been named the Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year, adding another accolade to the EV's long list of recognitions, the South Korean automaker announced Sunday. The EV received the World Car of the Year and scored top recognitions in Germany and the UK. According to Hyundai Motor, the Ioniq 5 also got the highest rating from the German automobile magazine Auto Bild in a recent assessment of EVs.

“I.Seoul.U,” an installation featuring Seoul city’s eight-year-old slogan, at Nodeul Island -- a small artificial island on the Han River near Yoeuido -- is being removed on Saturday. The city government under Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon announced that a new slogan is needed to rebrand South Korea’s most populous city. A total of 29 “I.Seoul.U” installations are scheduled to be removed by the end of this month.
