Samil PricewaterhouseCoopers, the local unit of the world’s largest accounting firm, said Monday that it has published a report on its sustainable business operations and accomplishments in 2019.

While reinforcing the External Audit of Stock Companies Act and the stewardship code adopted by the National Pension Service, the firm said it would implement a business model that fulfills accounting transparency and raises environmental, social and governance levels.

The report covers four areas -- responsible business, social impact and contribution, environmental stewardship and staff -- explaining its policy direction, practices, results, plans and achievements toward fulfilling the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

“Having a long history here, we have been checking important points that can increase our sustainability, and are actively discussing new growth engines,” said Samil PwC CEO Kim Young-sik.

“The purpose of publishing the sustainability report is to communicate with various stakeholders and meet their expectations,” he added.
