Around 200 students who have received training at Samsung Software Academy for Youth since December last year landed jobs in the software sector, the South Korean tech giant said Monday.
Known as SAFFY, the software academy is a training institution for students who are seeking jobs in the software field.
Four centers were opened in Seoul, Daejeon, Gwangju and Gumi at the end of last year as part of Samsung Electronics’ plan to support the country’s software talent.
A total of 500 job seekers were trained about coding, algorithms, frameworks and database at the centers for the past 11 months. The top 25 students visited Samsung’s overseas research centers in Poland, Ukraine, India, China and Vietnam for various software projects.
Known as SAFFY, the software academy is a training institution for students who are seeking jobs in the software field.

About 200 trainees have landed jobs so far, according to Samsung. Some 26 of them are joining the company as entry-level employees.
“Software education for youth is a corporate social responsibility program designed to fulfill Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong’s pledge to seek co-prosperity with society,” said a company official.
Lee paid a visit to the center in Gwangju in August to encourage the trainees.
Staring Monday, the institution will run a job fair for the next three weeks to support the remaining trainees to prepare for jobs.
