With the nationwide temperatures expected to surge to 33 degrees Celsius on Thursday, the weather agency is urging people to keep out of the sun.

Ultraviolet rays and ozone saturation were both forecast as ‘bad’ in areas excluding Jeju Island.

Excessive heat warnings were issued in the inland regions of Gyeongsang and Gangwon Provinces. Exposure to sun for a prolonged period of time could result in sunburn.

General precautionary measures are advised, including wearing long-sleeved clothes, sunblock, sunglasses and a hat.

Fine dust levels are forecast to be ‘bad’ in North Chungcheong, Busan and Ulsan areas.
