Hyundai Mobis, an auto parts unit of Hyundai Motor, has expanded archery classes held as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives to students in China, the company said Thursday.

The CSR program was launched there with the aim of enhancing the company’s brand image in the region.

Some 50 students of Huo Yuanjia Civil and Military School, which is located near the company’s Tianjin plant in northeastern China, will undergo the program for a week, the company said.

“We will continue to introduce CSR programs that have been successful in Korea in countries around the world in order to be known as a friendly company,” said Yang Nan-su, head of the company’s CSR division.

Yang Chang-hoon, a former head coach of the South Korean national archery team, and four archers of Hyundai Mobis’ archery team also took part in the program.

Hyundai Mobis plans to offer the program in Beijing, Shanghai and other regions in China where it operates next year, the company said.
