Coupang has renewed its own record for the amount of orders during the Chuseok holiday, the company said Thursday. Over one million items were ordered in a day through the company’s direct purchase and delivery service Rocket Delivery, it said.

During the 10-day Chuseok holiday Coupang received over 1,000 Rocket delivery orders at its peak in a span of one minute. Per hour searches made by customers exceeded 430,000.

The last record set by Coupang in gross merchandise value both weekly and monthly was in July, according to company CFO Richard Song.

In his company-wide message sent on the Oct. 13, Coupang’s Senior Vice President Rudy Darmawan mentioned how employees helped make this past Chuseok a success and that the company broke internal records.

“As a testament to Customers’ confidence in our Coupangman ability to deliver on time, they ordered a lot more compared to last year. We now have a peak day record of over a million items ordered in retail alone.

According to the company, customers shared their experiences with Coupang through various social media platforms.

“When it comes to delivery, Coupang deserves commendation,” One customer commented as many showed appreciation of the delivery being made during the holiday season when most offline stores had been closed.
