Choo Shin-soo of the Texas Rangers has homered in back-to-back games for the first time this season.

Leading off and playing right field, Choo jumped on the first pitch he saw from the Tampa Bay Rays' starter Matt Andriese in the bottom of the first at Globe Life Park in Arlington in Arlington, Texas, on Tuesday (local time).

The blast was his seventh of the season, and Choo was 1-for-2 with two RBIs, two walks and two runs scored. The Rangers went on to win the game 9-5.

Choo got his second RBI of the game with a sacrifice fly in the Rangers' four-run eighth inning, as they broke a 5-5 tie.

Choo also extended his on-base streak to 13 games and is batting .258 this season with 26 RBIs. Three of his seven home runs have come in the last four games.

The last time Choo went deep in two straight games was July 2-3 last year. (Yonhap)
