She finished tied for second at the LPGA Volvik Championship last weekend in Michigan. It was her fourth top-10 finish of the year.

Park began the month of May at No. 10 but slipped to No. 11 in the May 8 rankings. She stayed there for two weeks before moving back inside the top 10.

Park is one of six South Koreans ranked among the best 10 in the world, joining Ryu So-yeon (No. 3), Chun In-gee (No. 5), Park In-bee (No. 7), Kim Sei-young (No. 9) and Amy Yang (No. 10).

Park Sung-hyun also leads all players in the Rookie of the Year points race with 491.

Meanwhile, Ryu is locked in a battle for the top spot with No. 1 Lydia Ko and No. 2 Ariya Jutanugarn.

Ko has 8.40 points, followed by Jutanugarn with 8.33 and Ryu with 8.21. Of the three, only Ryu will compete at this week's LPGA event, the ShopRite LPGA Classic in New Jersey. (Yonhap)
