[THE INVESTOR] BMW Korea Future Foundation hosted the “NEXT GREEN-TALK CONCERT” over the weekend, attracting 1,400 attendees interested in the environment and a sustainable future, foundation officials said Monday.

Under the slogan “For Earth, For Us,” the event engaged 11 speakers with varying backgrounds from a best-selling author and renowned mountaineer to a cat-loving cartoonist and entertainers. The speakers shared their perspectives on greener future with the vast audience.

Ecologist Ahn Byung-ok opened the first day of the event by explaining the butterfly effect of small habits to an ecosystem. Mountaineer Um Hong-gil shared lessons learned from nature. Author Kim Young-ha and parasitologist Seo Min suggested contributions to green ecology come from a sense of “empathy and unselfish mindset as parasites.” Organizing consultant Yun Seon-hyun promoted advantages of simple life.

Other topics including sustainable living, human instincts and environments, respect to life and more were shared on the second day. Comedians Song Eun-yi and Kim Sook dropped tips on eco-living to bring an end to the event.

Since BWM Korea set up the nonprofit organization in 2011, BMW Korea Future Foundation has been running a wide range of programs as this talk concert, in order to “groom responsible leaders for future,” according to the officials.
