YG Entertainment will take legal action against the hacker who leaked private photos of singer-rapper G-Dragon to the public, the agency said Wednesday.

“G-Dragon’s private account was hacked and he became the target of privacy infringement,” the agency said in a statement. “We will take this issue to investigators to find those responsible for the hack and anyone who spreads malicious rumors about the incident.”

The leader of the popular boy band Big Bang had started a private Instagram account to share photos of his private life. It had 150 followers. The hacker changed the account status to public from private, which the singer had originally set, allowing the public to see his personal photos. Among the widely circulated pictures include some of G-Dragon and Japanese actress Nana Komatsu, in which the two appear close, leading to dating rumors.

“Some of the leaked photos were edited by a third person, which have been spread online as if they were real, causing yet more damage (to the singer and the actress),” the agency said.

“We will act sternly against any behavior that infringes upon the artist’s privacy and damages his image and reputation by spreading groundless rumors on online forums and social media services.” (Yonhap)
