South Korean internet company Kakao rolled out a new job information search service Wednesday ahead of the start of major companies’ fall recruiting season.

Kakao, the operator of Korea’s top mobile messenger KakaoTalk and portal website Daum, has partnered with local job information website Jobplanet to introduce a new search page that displays information on some 15,000 companies registered under Jobplanet.

The new service aims to summarize and provide key information for job seekers, such as wages, employee benefits, job interview styles and work culture.

To access the service, users type in Korean a given company’s title and the word “recruitment” on Daum’s search engine or via KakaoTalk’s “#” search button to view key information on a company.

For instance, by clicking the “#” button in a KakaoTalk chatroom and typing in “Samsung Electronics” and “recruitment” in Korean, users are transferred to a page that displays the firm’s average wage, employee benefits and reviews of the interview process by former interviewees.

According to Kakao, all of the information comes from reliable personal reviews posted by Jobplanet users who have gone through the relevant company’s recruiting process or already work at the company.

“We hope that our new partnership with Jobplanet will help local job seekers prepare for the year-end recruiting season with more ease and convenience,” Kakao said in a statement. “We will continue upgrading the joint service to provide more accurate information.”

Korean conglomerates and businesses are preparing to kick off their year-end recruiting season starting from the end of this month.

Samsung Group will begin its entry-level hiring process for university graduates from Sept. 9-20. Those who pass the initial application screening process will be notified of a date for an essay exam related to the field of the specific Samsung affiliate they have applied for.

Hyundai Motor Group is scheduled to begin receiving entry-level job applications for university graduates from Aug. 30, while both SK Group and LG Group will open up such processes from Sept. 1. POSCO is also scheduled to start its recruiting process early next month, among other companies.
