A group of Korean companies and organizations came out on top at the annual International Business Awards as they were selected as Stevie Award winners, organizers said Wednesday.

America’s business watcher The Stevie Awards Competitions announced last week that Korea’s corporations and organizations won 133 prizes in total at IBA.

IBA is held every year to evaluate global companies under diverse conditions from management and marketing to new products and human resources administration.

Korea’s advertising agency HS Ad was nominated for the top Gold Stevie winner this year with 14 gold prizes in a variety of categories, the organizers said.

Marketing was the sector which brought the largest number of gold prizes to Korean companies like LG and Lotte.

Besides big conglomerates, public corporations, including KEPCO, won gold for excellent social media marketing through diversified channels like Facebook and Twitter, they said.

Local governments like Songpa-gu office was also recognized for its master plan to sustainably develop the town. The awards ceremony will be held Oct. 21 in Rome, Italy.
