Choo Shin-soo of the Texas Rangers isn't wasting much time these days putting his club on the board.

The Korean outfielder belted a leadoff home run against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park in Boston, Tuesday (local time). It was Choo's fourth home run to start a game this season, and 20th of his career.

Choo jumped on the first pitch fastball by Boston starter David Price and sent it over the center field wall for his seventh home run of 2016. It was Choo's second leadoff homer off the left-hander in as many meetings, the first having come on June 24 at Globe Life Park in Arlington in Arlington, Texas. He entered the game having batted 9-for-26 against Price.

Choo was lifted for Nomar Mazara to begin the bottom of the fifth with lower back stiffness. He grimaced after striking out swinging to end the top of the fourth.

The Rangers went on to win the game 7-2. Choo went 2-for-3 and is batting .272 this season. He has picked up an extra-base hit in four straight games.

Choo missed the early part of the season, first with a calf injury and then a hamstring problem. This was his 27th game of the year.

In 2015, Choo bounced back from a dismal first half and ended up with 22 home runs and 82 RBIs in 149 games. (Yonhap)
