[THE INVESTOR] Hankook Tire announced on July 1 that it has signed an agreement with Real Madrid CF for a three-season sponsorship.

Starting from this month, the tire maker will promote itself in all home games at the Spanish soccer club’s Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

The agreement will not be limited to the 2016 UEFA Champions League winner’s home matches of the Primera Division (the Spanish 1st league), but also includes the club’s Copa del Rey matches (the Spanish national soccer cup) as well as international home and away matches, the company said.

Through this agreement South Korea’s largest tire maker will be able to promote itself to the 450 million Real Madrid fans across the world.

“We believe that the partnership will be another stepping-stone for both parties to enhance our reputation as premium brands in the global community,” said Suh Seung-hwa, Hankook Tire’s vice chairman & CEO.

Hankook Tire has been sponsoring a number of major international sports teams and matches including UEFA Europa League, German soccer club Borussia Dortmund and Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters.
