SK Planet has been named the Telecom eCommerce Service Provider of the Year for its mobile marketing brand Syrup, the company said Thursday.

The award was presented to the firm at the 2016 Asia Pacific ICT Awards in Singapore on Wednesday. It was hosted by the consulting firm Frost & Sullivan and this was the 13th year of the awards.

Frost & Sullivan said that SK Planet was chosen for the award because Syrup had increased value to customers through omni-channel competitiveness, and showed innovative growth through the launch of a variety of services, according to SK Planet.

SK Planet’s mobile online-to-offline marketing brand Syrup was launched in 2014. The brand includes the digital wallet Syrup Wallet, Syrup Table and the rewards program OK Cashbag.

In the past year, Syrup also launched the easy-pay service Syrup Pay, the preordering service Syrup Order and the marketing solution Syrup Store.

The most popular service is Syrup Wallet, which currently has 14 million members. “Users can register various credit cards and membership cards on the app, and receive targeted coupons and special deals,” said Joo Jae-yool, a PR manager with SK Planet. “We are also continuing to incorporate new technologies such as beacon services to provide users with discount benefits based on their location.”
