Ironman 70.3 Busan has opened its doors to team participation, the event’s public relations agency Emerson K Partners announced Wednesday.

More popularly known as the Ironman Triathlon, Ironman 70.3 consists of three courses -- 1.9 kilometers swimming, 90.1 kilometers cycling and 21.1 kilometers running -- which must be completed within 8 1/2 hours.

The event had previously only allowed individual participants, but for the 2016 Busan event to be held at Haeundae on June 19, competitors will be allowed to team up to tackle the course in segments.

All the members of rookie girl group SOL-T, the event’s honorary ambassadors, will also participate in the event as a team.
