Ikea posts recall orders on lamps



Ikea Korea posted recall orders for its Rinna wall lamp, Lock ceiling lamps as well as Hyby lamps, after reports that the glass covers had fallen and inflicted injuries.

According to Ikea, only Hyby and Lock lamps are sold in Korea, but Rinna will be subject to the refund, too.

Those who have purchased the respective lightings will be able to receive a full refund without receipts, if they take the product to the Ikea store in Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi Province.

McDonald’s raises menu prices


McDonald’s Korea announced that it will raise the price of nine hamburgers, four breakfast menus and four desserts by between 100 won ($0.08) and 200 won a piece starting Friday.

Those affected by the decision include the Bic Mac, McSpicy Shanghai Burger, Egg McMuffin, Deluxe Shrimp burger, Quarter Pounder, McNugget, McWing, McFlurry and Hamburger.

“The 1.33 percent-price increase reflects several soaring costs, and is an inevitable decision to provide the best service and products to our customers,” a McDonald’s Korea spokeswoman said.

The company also readjusted its minimum purchasing price for the McDelivery system from 7,000 won to 8,000 won.





Galleria to give immediate tax refund to foreigners

The Galleria Department Store is giving value added-tax refunds to foreigners who purchase at the company’s outlets in southern Seoul and the Galleria Time World in Daejeon.

Shoppers with foreign passports will be able to get the tax refund immediately on the spot, instead of having to visit tax refund kiosks at the airports or city center.

The company will also give a 5 percent discount coupon to those who join The Galleria Global Membership program.

The Galleria Time World has seen a 10 percent increase in the number of foreign shoppers in the past three years, and the Seoul store sees 14 percent of its shoppers from overseas, with 75 percent of them being Chinese tourists.





Veilment introduces Valentine’s Day candles



LG Household and Health Care’s premium perfume brand Veilment released two new candles for the Valentine’s Day Feb. 14 holiday.

The wild floral “Unexpected Rose” scent is inspired by a bouquet of flowers on a first date, while the “Sudden Kiss” scent is inspired by the happy and sensual feeling that comes after that very first kiss.

The Veilment Love Edition is available at Boon the Shop’s Cheongdam outlet and via www.veilment.com for 89,000 won ($74). 



MCM releases colorful lineup



Fashion house MCM launched several products in pink for both men and women.

The Bebe Boo, a smaller version of the brand’s signature backpack Stark, comes out in Chateau Roset and Sky Blue colors defined by Pantone. The bags could be used as messenger bags and shoulder bags.

The classic Mila bag comes in Beetroot Pink, alongside Radiant Yellow and Tile Blue colors.

Mitte is a new bag made with leather that comes in its “Beat Pink” color.

MCM will give a pink notepad to people who purchase items worth more than 300,000 won ($250). 



Couronne opens customization platform


Kolon’s accessory brand Couronne launched customization sub-brand C-Studio, where people can order tailored bags through www.couronne.co.kr.

People can order their own versions of the bag -- tote, shoulder, messenger bag or wallets -- alongside their choice of leather, prints, emblem color, glim and others that allows more than 15,000 different designs of bags.

Couronne plans to add initialing service in the latter half of the year.

Those who order their bags through C-Studio will be given an eco-bag.



Celltrion releases BB cream

 
Celltrion Skin Cure released Bio Origin Royal Ampoule BB EX, the first BB cream after its mother company Han Skin was acquired by Celltrion. The cream contains the company’s Bio Origin de Ampoule serum, making the skin translucent and glowing, the company said.

The main substances include royal jelly, as well as several synthetics, such as Clear PEP, SYN-HYCAN, antarcticine and others. These add whitening, moisturizing and wrinkle-easing effects, the company said.

The 40-milliliter cream is priced at 45,000 won ($37).
