Star pianist Lang Lang of China will hold a solo concert in South Korea for the first time in five years, the show organizer said Monday.

The world-renowned musician will play Tchaikovsky's The Seasons, Bach's Italian Concerto and Chopin's four scherzos at Seoul Arts Center in southern Seoul on Dec. 8, Mastmedia said.

Lang Lang is known for becoming an overnight star after playing a Tchaikovsky concerto with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in the "Gala of the Century" at age 17. He has also been chosen among the World's 100 Most Influential People by Time Magazine.

Though his solo concert here has been long overdue, Lang Lang was in South Korea last year, giving a classical twist to rapper Psy's "Champion" at the opening ceremony of the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, west of Seoul, as he performed alongside the "Gangnam Style" phenom.

Admission ranges from 70,000 to 160,000 won. (Yonhap)
