트럼프, 힐러리가 망가진 유명코미디쇼 SNL 깜짝진행

미국 대선 공화당 경선의 선두주자인 도널 드 트럼프가 다음 달 7일 유명 풍자 코미디쇼인 '새터데이 나이트 라이브'(SNL)의 깜짝 진행을 맡는다.

NBC방송은 13일(현지시간) 싱어송라이터 시아(Sia) 특집을 트럼프가 진행한다고 발표했다.

SNL은 지지율 하락으로 고전하던 민주당 대선주자 힐러리 클린턴 전 국무장관이 '발'(Val)이라는 이름의 바텐더로 출연해 스스로 망가지거나 트럼프를 조롱하는 등 의 익살연기를 해 이미지 전환을 꾀했던 프로그램이다.

NBC방송은 트럼프에게 친정이나 다름없는 방송사다. 그가 진행을 맡아 명성을 안겨준 서바이벌 리얼리티 TV쇼 `견습생(Apprentice)'이 이 방송의 간판 프로그램이 다.

하지만, 대선 유세에서 트럼프가 멕시코 이민자를 '성폭행범'으로 비하하는 발 언을 한 뒤 NBC방송으로부터 관계 단절을 통보받았다.

NBC방송이 트럼프와 공동운영한 미스 유에스에이와 미스 유니버스 선발대회를 더는 생중계하지 않겠다고 선언하고 소유권도 트럼프에게 넘긴 것.

우여곡절 끝에 성사된 트럼프의 SNL 진행은 NBC와의 관계 회복을 의미하는 셈이 어서 트럼프는 대선 가도에 큰 우군을 얻게 됐다는 평가가 나온다. (연합)

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has agreed to host “Saturday Night Live” next month.

NBC said its former “Celebrity Apprentice” host will be the headliner of the Nov. 7 show. It’s the second time he has hosted the venerable comedy institution; he was on the show in April 2004. Trump was also skewered in the season premiere’s opening sketch.

Trump has been ratings gold for nearly every television outlet he’s touched since his candidacy took off this summer, the main reason behind record viewership for the two GOP candidates’ debates in August and September.
