"The Origin of Life" by Ha In-doo

Herald Artday, a subsidiary of Herald Corp., is holding its monthly online auction from Oct. 1-8 at the Herald Gallery in Yongsan-gu.

In celebration of the Chuseok holidays, this month’s auction will feature an array of soothing, nostalgic pieces including Ha In-doo’s “The Origin of Life,” which expresses a reverence for life and the nobility of the everyday; the vibrant “Narodo Seascape” by Choi Ssang-joong; “Musing” by Lee Dong-youb, a contemporary painter considered a leader in Korean monochrome painting;  “The Middle Path of Jeju,” a cheery mixed media piece by Lee Wal-chong; and works by Ko Young-hoon, who attempts to connect life and time through objects depicted in a hyperrealist style.

Additional pieces include “Winter Landscape” by Yi Sang-bom, a master of Korean ink landscapes, and the greenery-filled “Landscape” by Kim Ki-chang. A diverse collection of foreign pieces and notable lithographs are also available.

Bidding and auction statuses are available on the mobile application Artday. The auction preview will be held Oct. 1-8 at the Herald Square Gallery, located at the headquarters of Herald Corp. in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
