Hana Financial Investment vowed Wednesday to help develop the Korean financial service industry under a new corporate name while announcing a promotional event for customers.

The company, formerly called Hana Daetoo Securities, adopted its new corporate name on Sept. 1 to mark its increased market competiveness in the financial service sector.

The financial investment affiliate of Hana Financial Group has accumulated a decade of experience in asset management and investment banking.

“We are paving our way to become a top-level financial investment firm in private-corporate investment banking, or PCIB, through the enhanced synergy effect with Hana Financial Group,” a Hana Financial Investment official said.

The promotional event includes a raffle running from Sept. 1 through Nov. 30. Customers can participate either at company branches or online at Hana Financial Investment’s home page, www.hanaw.com.

All customers are given a “shot” after correctly giving the brokerage’s new corporate name. Customers can gain up to four extra shots, one for meeting each of four conditions: overseas investment through Hana, opening an overseas stock investment account at Hana, opening the new cash management account “Any CMA” and signing up for or transferring to Hana’s individual pension or individual retirement pension plan.

The raffle is noted for its list of extravagant prizes totaling 200 million won ($170,000), including luxury handbags and accessories, top-class hotel package plans, spa tickets, brand-name bicycles, Apple Watch, PlayStation 4 and top-brand display monitor packages.

Besides the raffle winners, all participants are given smartphone docks, ecobags, tea bottles, nail care sets or towels.

Detailed information is offered at www.hanaw.com and Hana’s customer service at 1588-3111.
