The wage gap between male and female workers in Korea has widened over the past five years, a report showed Tuesday.

The report from the National Tax Service, which was submitted to Rep. Lee In-young for a parliamentary audit, said women received 64.6 percent of men’s wages on average in 2013.

The ratio was 67 percent in 2008, 65.5 percent in 2009 and 64.8 percent in 2010.

Experts said the figure shows the need for the nation to improve its stiff job market for women and poor social services for working moms.
