MAMACHI, known as the “Chanel” or “Gangnam-style” of baby bottles, is a must-have item among expecting mothers.

The bottle first found fame in their Los Angeles store before making its way to Korea. “The bottles first became a hit overseas, then we started selling them in duty-free shops, main department stores and within very short time, mommies have become very interested in our baby bottles,” said Kim Do-hwan, senior manager of ODIGAMOM (www.odigamom.com), the official website of MAMACHI bottle manufacturer SSTrade Co. Ltd.

Rather than only the nipple, MAMACHI bottles are made entirely from silicone, recreating the feel of natural breastfeeding. All materials are made in Korea and free from harmful chemicals, Kim said.

While MAMACHI baby bottles cost almost twice as much as regular baby bottles, Kim says that this is due to the high cost of the materials, and added that this does not stop mothers from recommending the bottle to others.

MAMACHI bottles have also gained attention in other Asian countries, and sales have increased 300 percent in China within a year.

The bottles will soon be available in major Chinese and American online retailers, and Kim said he plans to update their website for better user interaction using Cafe24’s (www.cafe24.com) business solution.
