Live music at Park Hyatt Busan


Park Hyatt Busan’s Living Room Bar is presenting a series of exciting music performances from jazz band BigFace. The band features a range of diverse instruments such as the piano, saxophone, drums and trumpet, and vocals. Mondays will feature swing music; Tuesdays, a trio of piano, bass and vocals; Wednesdays, contemporary jazz renditions of early Bach and more; Thursdays, soft and romantic music; and on Fridays, Latin jazz. Saturdays will see an exhilarating performance under the theme of “Saturday Night Live.”

Complete with a view of the Gwangan Bridge, a landmark of the seaside city, and the yacht marina, the bar offers modern French cuisine, wine, cocktails and more in a relaxed and lively atmosphere.

BigFace band will be playing from 8:15 p.m. to midnight from Mondays to Thursdays, and from 9:15 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. For inquiries, call (051) 990-1300.

Pool party at Sheraton Grande Walkerhill


Sheraton Grande Walkerhill is opening its outdoor swimming pool Riverpark from June 19 to Sept. 9. Riverpark features an adult pool with a panoramic view of the Han River, a children’s pool and a poolside buffet.

During Green Season (June 19 to July 3, Aug. 31 to Sept. 6), only the adult pool will be open. During Blue Season (July 4 to July 24, Aug. 24 to Aug. 30) and Gold Season (July 25 to Aug. 23), all facilities will be fully open. Prices range from 40,000 won to 200,000 won. Summer packages are also available throughout the period. The “Cool Summer” packages include an overnight stay and range from 185,000 won to 504,000 won. Going green at Grand Hyatt Incheon


Environment-conscious travelers may want to take a visit to Grand Hyatt Incheon’s West Tower, just 3 minutes away from Incheon International Airport. The building was designed for eco-friendly construction and sustainable operations from its planning stages. Following a series of stringent criteria, the hotel has now obtained the gold grade of LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, a U.S. seal that certifies eco-friendly buildings and is issued by the U.S. Green Building Council.

Key installments include full LED lighting; recycled water for toilets and gardening; building materials that contain less volatile organic compounds and harmful chemicals; refrigerants that cause minimal damage to the ozone; and an outdoor garden and wooden deck that provide fresh air and reduce thermal pollution. Indian food at JW Marriott Seoul

JW Marriott Hotel Seoul’s all-day dining restaurant The Cafe @ JW is presenting a selection of Indian dishes this June to celebrate the arrival of new chef Vivekananda Saha from JW Marriott Hotel Whitefield in Bangalore, India. The promotion will run until June 26.

Appetizers on Chef Saha’s menu include deep-fried lentil dumplings with yoghurt salad, onion salad with roast cumin, and Indian-style roast chicken. Main courses include butter chicken with tomato sauce; paneer butter masala, cottage cheese in tomato and onion sauce; prawn curry; chicken curry; lamb biryani, Indian-style fried rice with Indian herbs and spices; and grilled legs of lamb. A kebab station will serve freshly grilled kebabs.

Summer stays at Lotte Seoul


Lotte Hotel Seoul is offering summer packages from June 1 to Aug. 31. The Superior Package at 240,000 won includes a one-night stay in a superior room and apple mango bingsu at The Lounge. The Deluxe Package at 300,000 won offers a one-night stay in a deluxe room, apple mango bingsu at The Lounge, and breakfast buffet for two persons at La Seine or Peninsula.
