Transition to Thesis:

Next, transition to your thesis by drawing a connection between your opening story and your final thought (thesis):

This is because ________.

Example: This is because we must all be creative in finding solutions to our unique problems, and in trying to understand other people and the world around us.

Thesis:

Therefore, I believe that ________ .

Example: Therefore, I believe that all people must, to some degree, be creative.

Body Paragraph 1:

First Example:

A good example of this __________. (4~6 more sentences of elaboration)

Example: A good example of this is the creativity required in the decisions of politicians. Lawmakers must, by definition, be creative in compiling constant compromising of ideas into workable legislation ― Otto von Bismarck even likened lawmaking to making sausages. Barack Obama, for example, must constantly find creative solutions in working with Republican legislators ― this may not be the same kind of creativity which inspired the Taj Mahal, but it is, instead, a sociological creativity which allows him to maneuver around the competing interests of opposing politicians.

Body Paragraph 2:

Give Another Example:

Example: Another wonderful example is the creativity required to be a programmer. As a former programmer myself, I know both the stigma and reality of being a programmer. The stigma is that programmers are glorified logicians who are better at logic than creative thinking, but the reality is that programmers must not only make creative programs every day, but they also must be creative in how the construct their code. Nothing is more frustrating than a program which does not solve a problem except for a program that is so badly written that it cannot be debugged. These are examples of the requirement for creativity in another field that has been so badly stigmatized as uncreative.
