Samsung Electronics, the world’s largest smartphone-maker, announced an advanced version of its mobile security solution, called Trustonic for KNOX, on Friday, aiming to increase its presence in the global enterprise mobile market.

The new security solution for mobile devices will be embedded in the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, which are scheduled to hit global shelves on April 10, and will be available for other Galaxy smartphones through updates down the road.

Trustonic for KNOX, a result of the collaboration between Samsung and the leading mobile security solution developer Trustonic, enables the delivery of high-value services in simpler and more compelling ways, according to the Korean tech giant.

Trustonic for KNOX seamlessly integrates the advanced security features of Samsung KNOX with Trustonic’s cutting-edge technology in Trusted Execution Environment, a technology that guarantees code and data loaded inside to be protected with respect to confidentiality and integrity.

“We understand the importance of evolving Samsung KNOX to meet the ever-changing needs of enterprise and professional mobile security,” Rick Segal, vice president of Samsung’s enterprise business team, said in a press release.

“Embedding the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge with Trustonic for KNOX will enable ecosystem players to build new services and applications that will take mobile security to a new level.”

Through this partnership, government, enterprise and vertical industry clients will gain a complete, powerful platform incorporating strong user authentication, single sign-on, secure tokenization, and enhanced trust for mobile device management, the company said.
