BISSELL, a U.S. vacuum cleaner and floor care product manufacturer, said Thursday that it aimed to achieve 5 billion won to 10 billion won ($4.6 million-$9.2 million) in sales in its first year in Korea.

The Michigan-based company is planning to enter the market by launching its latest model, the Symphony All-in-One, on TV homeshopping channels.

“Korean consumers are peculiar when it comes to cleaning and choosing floor care products with high technology,” BISSELL Asia regional brand manager Eveline Mou said during a press conference in Seoul on Thursday.

“We hope the company’s time-honored experience and tradition cater to South Korean consumers’ needs.”

Symphony All-in-One allows vacuuming and steam mopping at the same time, according to company officials.

The new product will retail for 448,000 won, at outlets including department stores and online retailers.

BISSELL is a family-owned company established in 1876. According to research firm NPD Group, BISSELL vacuum cleaners accounted for about 20 percent in the U.S. market for two consecutive years in a row in 2012 and 2013.
