Jung Yong-hwa, a member of K-pop group CNBLUE, said Monday that he had gone through difficult times and wanted to quit music.

“People do not know this, but I have been through rough times in the past few years. There were times when I wanted to quit everything,” the 25-year-old singer-actor revealed, without giving more details.

The remarks came during a showcase in Seoul on Monday to unveil his first solo album “One Fine Day,” a day before its official release on Tuesday.

“I hated when people asked me if I was OK. That’s when I made the song ‘The Last Leaf,’” which is included on the latest album, he said.

Jung also talked about how his music style had changed.

“I thought about doing heavy metal music or rock, but I became fond of calm, soothing music ever since I sang ‘Can’t Stop’ last year,” he said. “Now, I like ballad music.”

“Can’t Stop” is the ballad track off his fifth EP, released last year.
