South Korean expansion baseball club KT Wiz announced Monday they've signed right-hander Chris Oxspring.

The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) team said they acquired the 37-year-old right-hander for US$350,000, a figure that includes a signing bonus.

Oxspring will now be pitching for his third KBO club. He first pitched for the LG Twins in 2007 and 2008, and then returned to South Korea to join the Lotte Giants, for whom he'd pitched the past two seasons.

The Giants made him a free agent after the 2014 season, in which he went 10-8 with a 4.20 ERA in 32 appearances.

For his KBO career, Oxspring has gone 37-30 with a 3.73 ERA in 105 appearances.

Cho Bum-hyun, the Wiz manager, said he wanted a veteran player who could help other foreign players adjust to the new environment.

"Oxspring is also an inning eater and I expect him to hold down a spot in our starting rotation," Cho added.

The Wiz can carry four foreign players in their first two seasons, one more than the rest of the league. They have filled their quota with pitchers Oxspring, Andy Sisco and Phil Irwin and infielder Andy Marte. (Yonhap)
