The Korean branch of British American tobacco said that it earned an award for achieving $70 million in exports at the 51st Trade Day ceremony, organized by the Trade Ministry and the Korea International Trade Association on Friday.

An agreement recently signed by BAT Korea and the labor union at its factory in Sacheon, South Gyeongsang Province, on bilateral cooperation and maintenance of labor-management harmony, led to the doubling of the exports this year over the previous year, the company said in a press release.

“I would like to thank all the BAT Korea executives and employees for their hard work and determination for the achievement of this goal,” the BAT Sacheon Factory operations director Lee Seong-kwon said.

“BAT Korea is willing to establish a solid reputation in the international market with our ‘made- in-Korea’ cigarettes and continue to pursue our contribution toward local economic development.”
