Hyundai Motor Co. and its corporate cousin Kia Motors Corp. will supply 162 cars for the upcoming ASEAN-Korea Commemorative Summit meeting set to take place next month, organizers for the event said Friday.

The summit, to be held in Busan, aims to celebrate 25 years of constructive dialogue and cooperation between the 10-country-strong political and economic organization and Asia’s fourth-largest economy.

The leaders of all the Association of Southeast Asian Nations are to take part in the two-day event that kicks off on Dec. 11.

Summit organizers said the cars to be used by the leaders and staff will be handed over by Hyundai and Kia at a ceremony to be held next Tuesday at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center.

Senior officials from the foreign ministry, the Busan regional government and company executives will be present at the event.

Hyundai and Kia are to provide the Equus limousine, the K9 full-size luxury car and Genesis premium sedan for the summit. (Yonhap)
