Kia Motors Corp. will unveil the U.S. version of its all-new Sorento SUV at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the company said Wednesday.

The car that is already on sale in South Korea will be marketed as a “class above” its rivals by having a host of amenities, safety features and space, the automaker said.

The third generation of the midsize crossover will also come with three gasoline engine choices for the North American market, compared to two diesels for its home market.

Kia said customers can opt for the four-cylinder 2.4-liter gasoline direction injection engine, the 2.0L turbo or the 3.3L GDI V6, depending on their needs. In South Korea, the Sorento is sold exclusively with either a 2.0L or 2.2L diesel mill.

The company did not specify prices, but said the vehicles will reach U.S. showrooms early next year.

“The car will enhance Kia’s brand equity,” the carmaker said.

Besides the Sorento, Kia said it has reserved 1,702 square meters of space at the auto show that kicks off Wednesday and runs through Nov. 30 (local time). (Yonhap)
