The foreign ministry is set to release to the public new video clips in several foreign languages to stress South Korea's territorial sovereignty over Dokdo, a set of rocky islets in the East Sea, officials said Friday.

The video clips dubbed in seven foreign languages will be posted on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' official homepage on Saturday, according to the officials.

Currently, the ministry is displaying similar video clips in five other languages -- Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese and Spanish -- on its homepage in an effort to counter Japan's recurring claims to the South Korean islets.

The languages to be added include Arabic, French, German and Russian.

The four-minute video clips introduce audiences to historical and geographical data backing South Korea's unchallengeable sovereignty of Dokdo.

Japan is also running a similar video collection on its foreign ministry homepage in 11 different foreign languages as part of the country's frequent claims to the islets. (Yonhap)
