Daewoo Engineering & Construction has begun sales of apartments in its latest Prugio complex, dubbed the “Bongdam Central Prugio” that will become the biggest apartment complex in the Bongdam area of Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province.

Prugio is the company’s flagship housing brand, introduced in 1994.

The complex is comprised of 1,265 apartments in 12 buildings ranging from 59-84 square meters.

The Bongdam Central Prugio boasts easy access to metropolitan transportation network via highways linking Gwacheon to Bongdam and Pyeongtaek to Hwaseong, which enables the residents to reach Gangnam in 50 minutes.

A subway station is also expected to be built near the apartment complex, according to the construction company.

There are a number of local conveniences, including supermarkets and a public library around the area, and the complex is located within walking distance from a university and elementary and junior high schools.

Some key features of the apartments include a roomy laundry space where residents can wash and dry their clothes without having to hang them in the apartment. The utility rooms and pantries were also specially designed to maximize storage space.

To help cut maintenance costs, Daewoo E&C said it applied an eco-friendly system called “Green Premium.”

The technology has equipped each apartment with smart energy-saving systems such as real-time energy monitoring, a smart control switch and a sensor-type water saving system.

The apartments also feature a strengthened security system that comes with a smart door video camera sitting on the front porch and a high-definition CCTV camera.

The average price for each “pyeong” (3.3 square meters) of space is expected to be around 7.9 million won ($7,480). The move-in date is currently set for September 2017. A show house was opened in Bongdam on Oct. 10.
