제시카 소녀시대 퇴출설, ‘개인브랜드 론칭’ 에 대한 경고?

소녀시대 제시카 웨이보에 퇴출통보 글이 게재돼 파문이 일고 있는 가운데 최근 제시카의 근황에 대한 관심이 쏠리고 있다.

30일 오전 5시 제시카의 웨이보에는 “공식 스케줄을 기대하며 준비하고 있었으나, 회사와 8명으로부터 오늘부로 저는 더 이상 소녀시대의 멤버가 아니다라는 통보를 받았다”며 “저는 소녀시대 활동을 우선시하며 적극적으로 전념하고 있는데, 정당치 않은 이유로 이런 통보를 받아서 매우 당혹스럽다”라는 글이 영문과 한글로 제개됐다.

이후 제시카는 게시글과 별도로 팬들의 댓글에 “당신들(팬들)은 내가 사랑하는 특별한 사람들이다. 그러니 내 진실을 알 가치가 있다. 난 깊은 슬픔을 느꼈고 내가 믿었던 사람들로부터 상처를 받았다. 당신들은 이와 같은 상처를 받지 않길 바란다”고 덧붙였다.

하지만 최근 소속사 SM엔터테인먼트가 소녀시대 멤버 9명 모두와 재계약을 마쳤다고 알려졌기에 이 글의 진위여부에 관심이 쏠리고 있다.

그러나 이날 오전, 제시카를 제외한 8명만이 출국길에 올라 퇴출설에 대한 의혹이 커지고 있다.

이에 따라 제시카가 최근 개인브랜드를 론칭했다는 사실이 다시 주목받고 있다.

제시카는 지난달 자신의 웨이보를 통해 “마침내 내 브랜드를 론칭했다”라는 글과 함께 한 장의 사진을 게재했다.

사진 속 제시카는 선글라스를 바닥에 두고 스타일리쉬한 포즈를 취하고 있다.

또한 제시카는 국내 활동보다 최근 중국 스포츠 브랜드와 합작하여 옷과 운동화 등을 디자인하는 등 해외에서 개별활동을 많이 펼친 바 있다.

지난 11일 제시카는 자신의 웨이보에 “홍콩, 광저우 팬들, 나에게 사랑스럽고 기억에 남을 밤 만들어줘서 정말 고마워요. 이벤트도 진짜 감동적이었어요”라는 글과 여러 장의 사진을 게재했으며, 이날 제시카는 중국에서 개인 팬미팅을 열었다.

한편 제시카의 퇴출설에 대해 현재까지 소속사는 공식입장을 밝히지 않고 있다.

이를 접한 네티즌들은 “제시카 소녀시대 퇴출설 제시카가 다시 댓글까지 단 것 보면 신빙성 있다”, “ 제시카 소녀시대 퇴출이라니 믿고 싶지 않아”, “제시카 소녀시대 퇴출 관련해서 SM 공식입장 빨리 내놓길” 등의 반응을 보였다.

Girls' Generation leaves for China without Jessica

K-pop idol group Girls’ Generation left for China on Tuesday without Jessica, backing up claims that she was forced out of the group by her label SM Entertainment.

Eight members of the group -- Taeyeon, Tiffany, Seohyun, Sunny, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung and Yoona -- turned up at Incheon International Airport on Tuesday morning before flying to Shenzhen, China, to attend a fan meeting.

Jessica, however, was not sighted at the airport.

The other girls did not respond to any of the questions from the press as they walked in the airport.

Earlier in the day, a post was made on Jessica’s Weibo account, claiming that SM Entertainment had unilaterally dismissed her from the group without “any justifiable reason.”

“I was preparing myself for the upcoming schedule, but I was notified today that I am no longer a member of Girls’ Generation as of today,” the post made at around 5 a.m., Tuesday, read.

“I have put Girls’ Generation first and actively focused on our activities, but I was informed of such news. I am very perplexed,” it continued.

The news comes as a surprise since it was reported that all of the group’s nine members renewed their contracts with SM after their seven-year contract expired in August.

Shocked fans took to online communities to discuss whether the story was true or not.

Some fans even raised the possibility that Jessica’s Weibo account was hacked, but it remains to be seen as SM has yet to announce an official stance. The company could not be reached for comment.
