After shifting his musical endeavors in 2011 to riding the ever-so trendy coattails of the EDM scene, former H.O.T rapper-turned DJ Jang Woo-hyuk will be releasing his first spin-track album as a DJ.

According to an announcement made by the star’s agency WH Entertainment on Tuesday, Jang is gearing up to release his first album under the stage name of DJ XXXV on Aug. 29. The artist will be holding an album release party that day at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, where he is expected to unveil his new singles “Party Never Ends” and “Time to Rock.”

The official “Time to Rock” music video, which Jung directed himself, will also be revealed during the party for the first time. The event will also include featuring performances by Esther, Lisa and pop and locking dance team Robotronic Harmonix.

As part of his participation in the global Ice Bucket Challenge viral charity frenzy, officials at WH Entertainment announced that the proceeds from both the album and the upcoming album release event will be donated to the ALS Association and the W-Foundation.

The yet-to-be-titled album will be the first release from Jang in nearly three years, when he dropped his previous solo “Back to the Memories” EP in 2011.

Formerly known as “Hammer Boy” as the rapper and dancer in one of the nation’s most iconic K-pop boy bands H.O.T, Jang joined fellow group members Tony An and Lee Jae-won and formed the R&B trio JTL when H.O.T disbanded in 2001.

After the disbandment of JTL in 2003, Jung went on to pursue a solo career, releasing his first solo album “No More Drama” two years later.

In 2011, the artist decided to step into the DJ booth for the first time and made his debut at Club Mass in Seoul. Since then, the DJ has performed his beats in clubs across the city as well have a number of performances in the United States, including New York City, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
