태풍 할롱 경로, 빠른 속도로 북상 중, 주말 한반도 강타할 듯

제11호 태풍 할롱이 북상하며 이번 주말에 한반도가 영향권에 들 것으로 예상된다.

4일 오전 3시 국가태풍센터에 따르면 태풍 할롱의 경로는 필리핀 마닐라 동쪽 1130km 해상을 거쳐가고 있으며, 한반도를 향해 북상 중이다.

태풍 할롱은 계속 북상해 5일 오전 3시 필리핀 마닐라 동북동쪽 1070km부근 해상을 지나며 6일 오전 3시에는 일본 오키나와 남남동쪽 620km부근 해상까지 접근할 것으로 보인다.

이후 태풍 할롱은 7일 오전 3시에는 일본 오키나와 동남동쪽 270km부근 해상까지 북상할 것으로 전망된다. 이번 주말에는 한반도가 태풍의 직접적인 영향권에 접어들 것으로 보인다.

태풍 할롱은 베트남에서 제출한 이름으로 명소의 이름인 것으로 알려졌다.

태풍 나크리가 소멸한 가운데 이어지는 태풍 할롱은 규모와 강도 면에서 올 들어 발생한 태풍 가운데 가장 강력하게 성장할 것으로 전망된다.

Severe storm hits southern Korea

A severe storm hit South Korea's southern regions Saturday, forcing flights to be grounded and causing property damage, weather authorities said, according to AFP.

The storm, packing winds of up to 90 kilometres an hour (56 miles an hour) swept in from the Pacific dumping heavy downpours on the southern island of Jeju, bringing up to 868 milimeters (26.3 inches) of precipitation on Mout Halla, the report added.

More than 200 flights to and from Jeju were scrapped and all beaches were closed to bathers. The island is a popular destination for local and regional holidaymakers, the report said. (From news report)
