유채영 위암 말기 투병에 절친 김현주 이틀째 병실 지켜 ‘뭉클’

가수 유채영의 위암 말기 투병이 알려진 가운데 절친인 배우 김현주가 그의 병실을 지키고 있는 것으로 알려졌다.

22일 한 매체는 연예계 관계자들의 말을 인용해 “김현주가 전날부터 신촌 연세대 세브란스병원에 입원한 유채영의 곁을 지키고 있다”고 보도했다.

김현주는 유채영의 절친으로 알려져 있으며, 현재 유채영의 가족 외에 병실에 함께 있는 유일한 지인인 것으로 알려져있다.

앞서 김현주는 지난 2012년 방송된 tvN ‘현장토크쇼 택시’에도 절친 유채영과 출연해 남다른 우정을 과시한 바 있다.

유채영은 지난해 10월 건강검진에서 위암 말기 판정을 받아 수술을 받은 뒤 항암치료를 받아왔다. 현재 유채영은 암이 다른 곳으로 전이돼 사경을 헤매고 있는 것으로 알려져 많은 사람들이 응원을 보내고 있다.

한편, 유채영은 위암 말기 투병 중에도 불구하고 지난달 말까지 MBC 표준FM라디오 ‘좋은 주말 김경식, 유채영입니다’를 진행해오다 병세가 위중해지면서 최근 프로그램을 하차했다.

Singer Yoo Chae-yeong in critical condition with stomach cancer

South Korean singer and actress Yoo Chae-yeong is suffering from advanced gastric cancer, a Korean media outlet reported Monday.

According to the reports, Yoo was first diagnosed with advanced stomach cancer last October during a medical check-up. The 36-year-old entertainer then underwent surgery, but her condition did not improve.

She is now in critical condition as the cancer has spread. She is still undergoing treatment.

“My wife Chae-yeong made many people happy in her life. I hope those who know her can pray for her after hearing this news,” Yoo’s husband Kim Joo-hwan was quoted as saying.

Yoo worked as a radio DJ early last year, but stepped down after her health deteriorated.

Yoo debuted at 17 in 1994 as a member of K-pop veteran group Cool, and then as a solo act in 1999. She starred in numerous dramas, films and TV shows, broadening her presence as an all-around entertainer.
