The geek in the pink American pop singer-songwriter Jason Mraz is finding new ways to keep in touch with his Korean fan base.

In commemoration of Mraz’s newest album, “Yes,” released on Wednesday, Warner Music Korea announced that Mraz has now opened up his own “Star Music Room” on the recently launched Kakao Music application, joining the rising number of Korean artists who have opened up their own music rooms.

The application enables Mraz to upload his own personal music playlist on his Kakao Music room, giving fans the opportunity to listen to his recommended music for free. The application also allows him to write messages, through translation, to his local fans. Kakao Music is a sister application of the country’s popular texting app, Kakao Talk.

The American pop star has an inarguably strong presence in Korea as one of the most popular foreign pop artists in the country. Mraz’s popularity among Koreans has led him to perform six solo concerts in Korea in less than a decade as well as appear on local TV shows, including a guest role on SNL Korea last year.
