괴체 결승골 독일 우승 아르헨티나

독일이 마리오 괴체의 연장 결승골로 아르헨티나를 꺾고 24년만에 월드컵 우승을 차지했다.

독일은 14일 오전(한국시간) 마라카낭 경기장에서 열린 아르헨티나와의 2014 브라질 월드컵 결승전에서 연장 후반 괴체의 결승골에 힘입어 1-0으로 승리했다.

이로써 독일은 지난 1990년 이탈리아 월드컵 이후 24년 만에 월드컵 우승 트로피를 차지, 통산 4번째 월드컵 정상에 올랐다.

24년 만의 월드컵 결승행에 성공했던 아르헨티나는 지난 1986년 멕시코 월드컵 이후 28년 만의 월드컵 우승 도전에 실패했다. 특히 최근 3차례 독일과의 월드컵 경기에서 모두 패하는 결과를 낳았다.

Germany defeats Argentina 1-0 to win World Cup title

RIO DE JANEIRO -- Second-half substitute Mario Goetze scored in the second half of extra time in the World Cup final with Argentina to crown Germany the winners of soccer’s biggest international tournament on Sunday night at Maracana Stadium.

Andre Schurrle sped down the left past Argentina’s defense to cross deep into the center to Gotze, who brought the ball down on his chest before volleying it past goalkeeper Sergio Romero and into the corner in the 113th minute.

The victory gives Germany its fourth title in a historic rematch of the two after Germany won in Rome in 1990.

Germany’s tournament included a draw with Ghana and victories over Portugal, the U.S., Algeria, France in the quarterfinals and Brazil in the semifinals.

Germany’s goalkeeper Manuel Neuer was awarded the Golden Glove award after his team conceded four goals in seven matches.

Argentina captain and striker Lionel Messi, who scored four goals in the team’s first three games, won the Golden Ball award.
