The three-member K-pop group JYJ expressed its displeasure with organizers of the Incheon Asian Games with regards to its performance during the upcoming sports festival.

“The organizing committee must reach a consensus with JYJ in advance regarding Incheon Asian Games’ events,” JYJ said Tuesday through its management agency C-jes Entertainment.

“When casting K-pop stars for the opening and closing event or conferences of Incheon Asian Games, JYJ should become the top priority,” the statement said.

JYJ issued the statement one day after the organizing committee announced that K-pop stars EXO, CNBLUE and Psy will perform for the opening ceremony for the Asian Games slated for Sept. 19. JYJ was selected to perform in the pre-opening ceremony.

“JYJ has been the promotional ambassador for Incheon Asian Games for more than a year and sang its official song. It is therefore hard to believe that JYJ cannot participate in the opening ceremony,” according to the statement.
