S-Oil on Monday launched the new lube oil brand S-Oil 7 and six synthetic oil products that will make a foray into the global premium market.

The oil refiner said S-Oil 7 will help drivers achieve better driving performance by enhancing five functions of the engine: fuel economy, eco-friendliness, drivability, durability and cleanness.

“S-Oil 7 is a futuristic top-tier brand, which embodies all the strengths of S-Oil, which is armed with world-class technical prowess and excellence in quality in all areas ranging from feedstock, lube base oil to manufacturing,” said company CEO Nasser Al-Mahasher at the launching ceremony held at Banyan Tree Hotel.

“Marking the 25th anniversary since our entry into the finished-lube oil market in 1989, we will take the launch of this new brand as an opportunity to expand and develop our lube oil business,” he told company executives and about 100 representatives of local lube oil agents. The oil refining company held an information session on the products and the brand development process.

The six synthetic oil products disclosed are made of S-Oil’s premium lube base oil (Group III) and polyalphaolefin. The 100 percent synthetic oil products simulate the characteristics of gasoline, diesel and LPG engines as well as RV vans, S-Oil said.

By adopting the latest additive technology, these products guarantee improved performance and eco-friendliness, the company said.

“Manufacturing all products based on a feedstock of 100 percent synthetic base oils is a very rare case among major domestic lube oil brands,” said an S-Oil official. “We plan to rev up our foray into major local and overseas markets by making the most of our high credit and vast sales network,” he said.
