Some people may argue that it is not necessary for college students to work while taking classes. However, I have a different idea. I think that university students should have a part time job.

College students should have a part time job because it can help their parents pay for their tuition. Many parents around the world are suffering from many problems such as high unemployment rate and downfall of property value. This is because globalization has made most developed countries’ economy closely connected to each other and recession of global leader countries’ economy has affected other countries in a negative way. In this sense, most people’s financial condition has been worse and worse during the last five years, and it is necessary for many students to make money while studying in school when many parents who need to support their children have lost their jobs.

Since having a part time job can help students build new relationship with various individuals, they need to choose to work while studying. Knowing and being friends with others is important here because Koreans consider ties or connections between people very significant rather than one’s ability when making important decisions such as who to hire or work with. This means that when one is well related with many different people, he or she will have more opportunities. This attitude of Koreans can be problematic in some cases, but it shows how important it is to start making friends who can help find a job after graduation as early as possible.

In conclusion, I believe that students in college should work while studying. The first reason is that they need to help their parents pay for their tuition. Secondly, having a part time job will help them get to know various people.
